Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate Art Pipeline Engineer to work at the intersection of game engineering and Art pipelines.
This role combines engineering skills with an understanding of game assets, focusing on building systems and tools that bring creative content into the game efficiently and reliably. You will work with both code and assets, contributing to pipeline development as well as real game implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Engineering
- Integrate game assets (UI, sprites, textures) into the engine using structured workflows
- Ensure assets follow technical standards, naming conventions, and hierarchy rules
- Maintain consistency and quality in how content is brought into the game
- Very Basic understanding of Game editor Timeline animations
- Technical problem solving skills during production
Tool Development
- Build tools/scripts using Python / JavaScript / C# (any one) to:
- Automate asset processing
- Validate prefabs and configurations
- Improve pipeline efficiency
- Develop solutions that reduce manual effort for artists and designers
Codebase Contribution
- Work within the game project to:
- Hook up assets into features using code
- Debug integration issues
- Support UI and system-level implementation tasks
Creative-Technical Alignment
- Understand how visual assets are structured and used in-game
- Work with artists to ensure assets are both visually correct and technically optimized
- Help maintain a balance between visual quality and performance constraints
Performance Awareness
- Optimize assets for:
- Memory usage
- Texture sizes and formats
- Efficient atlas usage
- Identify pipeline inefficiencies and suggest improvements
Required Skills (Must Have)
- Basic programming knowledge (any one):
- JavaScript / TypeScript, C#, Python
- Basic understanding of any game engine (Unity / Cocos preferred)
- Familiarity with:
- Game assets (sprites, UI elements, textures)
- Basic debugging and logical problem-solving
- Ability to work with both code and art assets
Good to Have
- Experience with:
- Editor scripting or pipeline tools
- Asset workflows or game UI setup
- Understanding of:
- Texture atlases and optimization basics
- Interest in both technical systems and creative workflows
